About these numbers

We go through your life one year at a time. Each year we add your pay, take off a rough guess for tax, take off your spending and loan payments, and see what's left.

Everything is in today's money. That means prices going up is already counted, so €1,000 in 2050 buys what €1,000 buys now.

Markets go up and down. So we try your plan in 1,000 possible futures, some lucky and some not. Your plan "holds up" in a future if you never run short of money. We pick the earliest year you could stop working where it holds up in at least 800 of them.
